Yes, the No. 1 olive oil in the World Ranking is from Argentina and is made by @olivicolalaur in Cruz de Piedra, Mendoza. This olive farm was created in 1889 by Don Francisco Laur, a French immigrant, and after several stages, it was acquired by the MillĂĄn family in 2010, who decided to keep the name. In 2012, the winemaker @gabriel_guardia is designated general manager and a path of international awards begins with him. If you visit them, you will find the olive oil museum and also the large conservation tanks, outside olive trees, and among them one identified as Patriomonial Olive Tree for its 133 years. â
â
Right next to it, on the same property, is Acetaia MillĂĄn, which is not far behind in its recognition, it is one of the 3 companies outside Europe that is certified by the Balsamic Vinegar Consortium of Modena, and its production respects traditional processes.â
â
If you are in Mendoza, be sure to visit them and do the tasting where, in addition to oils and vinegar, you will find LAUR wines from different regions đâ
